Aim of conference
To celebrate community health work locally and explore how we can work together across sectors to improve health and reduce health inequalities in a time of financial uncertainty and structural change in the NHS.
Who should attend?
- Frontline staff, volunteers, managers, trustees of local voluntary and community organisations (VCO’s) delivering commissioned projects
- Frontline staff, volunteers, managers, trustees of local VCOs interested in health commissioning
- NHS commissioners and providers with an interest in collaboration with the voluntary and community sector
Learning objectives
- Understand political, policy and financial context in which local organisations are operating
- Improve health development skills
- Better understand range of other projects, and gather information to enable inter-agency referrals
- Understand local NHS commissioning process for 2011/12
